I look forward to the Paula Project each year. There is no better place to feel renewed, energized and hopeful amid a sisterhood of fellow survivors
The Paula Project is an exclusive event for ALL cancer survivors. It is an event where survivors can connect and enjoy a refreshing morning that will lift their spirits and reignite their love for healing art.
This project is made possible by generous donations from Trench Shoring Company in honor of Paula Doherty. Paula participated in the very first Paint it Forward Project and is shown here holding her masterpiece along side her oncologist Dr. Perkins. According to her husband Joe, The Art of Life project allowed Paula (and her family) to be in another world and not think about the insidious disease known as cancer. Although Paula had no previous art experience, she embraced the project and became passionate about the positive impact of art in her life. Paula believed that the Art of Life experience should not end at the Paint it Forward Project but that there should be ongoing art opportunities for survivors. Paula has inspired the Art of Life to provide art opportunities for survivors throughout the year.
